What We Believe

1. The Bible – We believe the Bible of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired Word of God, the final authority for faith and life, without error in the original writings, infallible and God breathed (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter1:20-21; Mathew 5:18; John 16:12-13).

2. The Trinity – We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son (Jesus Christ), Holy Spirit (Mathew 28:19; Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

3. Jesus Christ – We believe that Jesus Christ became man without ceasing to be God. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven where He intercedes for believers, and will come again to earth (Mathew 1:23; Mark16:19; Luke 1:34-35, 24:51;John 1:1-3,14; Acts 2 23-24; I Corinthians 15:3-4).

4. Holy Spirit – We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity, has been active in the world since creation, and now indwells every true believer (Genesis 1:2; Exodus 31:3; John 14:16, 17, 26; John 16:7-15; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13-14).

5. Man – We believe that man is a special creation of God. He is different from all other creatures because he was made in God’s image. Further, man (Adam) willfully sinned against God and thus ushered in both spiritual separation from God and physical death (Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:17; Romans 1:24-25; Romans 5: 12).

6. Salvation – We believe that salvation comes only as a gift of God through His grace and is received by personal faith in the all sufficient death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (John 1: 12; Ephesians 2:8; Ephesians 1:7; John 10: 27-30; Romans 8: 1,38-39).

7. Church – We believe the church is the God ordained body, composed of born again individuals with Christ as the head, whose purpose is to glorify God and fully represent Jesus Christ to the world (Ephesians 1: 22-23; I Corinthians 12: 12-13; Ephesians 4: 16; Mathew 28: 19-20).

8. Ordinances – We believe there are two ordinances instituted by Christ for the church: water baptism and the Lord’s Supper (communion) (Acts 2: 41-42; Mathew 28:19; Romans 6:4; I Corinthians 11: 23-26).

9. Creation – We believe the eternal triune God created all things in six literal days in the recent past as described in the Bible (Genesis 1-11).

10. Biblical Worldview – We believe in a worldview that is based on the truths of Scripture and is summarized in the “7-Cs” (creation, corruption, catastrophe, confusion, Christ, cross, consummation). We further believe the Bible is true whenever it speaks of science, history, or salvation (Colossians 1: 15-17; Romans 1:20; 2Peter 3: 3, 5-7).

LEADERSHIP AND CHURCH GOVERNMENT
CrossWalk Church has adopted the biblical principle of a plurality of leadership. Jesus Christ is recognized as the Head of the church and the Holy Scriptures the supreme guide. Our leadership team, consisting of the Council of Elders, the Board of Directors, and the pastoral staff will lead the church in pursuit of our PURPOSE, VISION and STRATEGY. Following the concept of Eccl 4:12 “… A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” these three groups will work together as follows:

Ministry Team Leaders lead a specific defined area of ministry through which they carry out the strategic plan of CrossWalk Church. The Board of Directors is responsible for the legal and financial affairs of the church. The Council of Elders ensures that CrossWalk Church is biblically sound and that the Purpose, Vision, and What We Believe are protected.
