Welcome To Zone 56
How to make the most of your Sunday morning if you have kids in grades 5 and 6!
What comes first:
Arrive at our class at 9:30. How about arriving a few minutes early? You’ll give your information to the friendly person at the elementary kids’ table, grab nametags for your children, and drop your kids off at the elementary classroom. ‘Know what? Your kids will be just fine. We will do everything we can to help them feel comfortable and have a great morning. Enjoy your adult time. The kids will have a blast during their kids’ time.
What’s next when you’re done with worship?
When adult worship ends, all kids in grades 5 and 6 are free to be dismissed. You may want to choose an agreed-upon spot to meet in the café so you can find each other upon dismissal.
An assignment for the ride home
Head home and catch up on what went on in Zone 56 this week. Asking now helps cement the lesson in their minds so you can keep talking about it all week.
How we do what we do:
Large Group
Every week in Large Group, the kids hear a lesson from the Bible. We offer attention-grabbing lessons that prompt your preteen to dig into the Bible. The lessons will tackle the tough questions your preteens are asking about faith, relationships, and the choices they make. We want them to navigate in their Bibles so they have skills to search and find things in that great book. We also focus on helping kids love to worship and to pray.
Small Group
Kids need relationships with a few significant adults outside their parents where they can see authentic Christianity being modeled for them. In Zone 56 it’s in the same small group every week, with the same leaders, and the same kids of similar ages where this happens. Connections are made that are cool now but also crucial when they prepare to head off to middle school and life gets more challenging. Your regular attendance as a family helps make these relationships happen.
We feel less is best
You may look around and wonder where are all the midweek kids’ clubs, children’s musical groups, Bible School, and other traditional kids’ activities. We are a simple church. We want the family to stop doing life on the run. We want to offer only a few activities done well. So we’ve condensed our purpose down to this simple statement: “we exist to help kids love God, love others, and serve the world”. Everything we do must accomplish one of these three goals.
Stay tuned…less is more and your family will love it!
